Hungry Pecker Brewing Company is looking for a hard-working, dedicated individual, with beer production knowledge and management skills. This is a dynamic position with responsibilities across all brewery operations and is essential in helping us achieve our mission of crafting unique experiences one beer at a time.



This is a full time position that requires schedule flexibility, as HP’s production schedule varies from week to week. Available schedules are Monday-Sunday with varying start times.



Job Summary


This position is responsible for completing assigned daily tasks including but not limit to CIP, centrifuge operation, QA/QC measurements, partial batch brewing, and general cleaning. You have the very important role in our production process that requires a strong focus on adhering to SOPs, high-quality standards, and collaborating with all production staff to achieve production goals.




Duties and Responsibilities including the following. Other duties may be assigned.


*​Performs CIP across all brewery operations.

*​Fermentation tracking and management, YEAST handling. Gravity measurements, pH measurements, DO measurements 

*​Properly manage kegging beer. 

*​Assists in packaging products in a variety of formats including kegs, bottles, and cans.

​*Safe handling equipment along with correct PPE!

*​General cleaning of all production areas,
​maintains clean exteriors/interiors of all cellar and brewhouse tanks.

​*Ability to monitor brew house and execute batch brewing independently, without need of brewmaster around.

*Needs to ​perform general maintenance on all equipment.

​*Operates the brewhouse, centrifuge, glycol chiller, and other cellar equipment according to Hungry Peckers SOPs.

*Help manage beer inventory and prepare sales orders.

*​Strict adherence to cellar and brewing policies, able to proactively make recommended updates to head brewer as needed, ​can work closely with head brewer in a positive manner to ensure all tasks are completed in timely fashion.

Language Ability:

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effective present information in one on one or small group situation to customers, clients or other employees of the organization.



Math Ability:

Ability to add, subtract, multiple and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent, and to draw and interpret bar graphs.



Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variable in standardized situations.



Required Education and Experience



Two years of experience in a professional brewing, wine-making, or other fermented production environment, or any combination of education, training and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.

​High School diploma or general education degree (GED)
​At least 1 year of prior commercial brewing experience.

Preferred Education and Experience

​Forklift operating experience. Centrifuge and packaging line experience. General QA/QC experience.



Equipment:

Fork lift and pallet jack experience is a plus. Centrifuge, scissor lift, process pumps, air compressor.

Knowledge, Skills & Ability:

We are industrious at Hungry Pecker. This position requires a hard-working individual who is able to take direction well. This person needs to be able to communication and collaborate effectively with the entire production team and understand how each job directly affects others. They need time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks according to the needs of the production team.

This person must have a flexible schedule and be able to work long, varied hours. Needs the ability to multitask, and work well under time sensitive situations. Working knowledge of cellar and professional brewery equipment is essential.



Certifications/Licenses

Valid driver’s license, with clean driving record is required.


Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 30 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
